At BUILD54 Hackathon, we believe innovation has no limits.

Participants are encouraged to explore, create, and build solutions that address real-world problems in their communities, industries, or across Africa and beyond.

Judging Criteria

  • Innovation & Creativity
    How unique, creative, and original is the solution? Judges will evaluate how effectively the project introduces new ideas, improves existing solutions, or approaches a problem differently through innovation and creative thinking.
  • Problem Relevance & Impact
    How clearly does the project identify and address a real-world problem? Judges will evaluate the potential impact of the solution on individuals, communities, industries, or society, with consideration for scalability and long-term value.
  • Technical Execution & Functionality
    How well was the solution designed and developed? We will evaluate the quality of implementation, effective use of technology, functionality, technical complexity, and how successfully the idea was transformed into a working prototype or demonstration.
  • User Experience & Design
    How accessible, practical, and user-friendly is the solution? Judges will consider design quality, ease of use, user needs, and how effectively the solution creates a meaningful experience for its intended audience.
